GILPP Emerging Leaders
in Governance Scholarship
The Geneva Institute for Leadership and Public Policy (GILPP) Emerging Leaders in Governance Scholarship seeks to identify, support, and connect exceptional young leaders from low-to-middle income emerging economies who are pursuing higher education and are committed to a career in civil service. The scholarship reinforces GILPP’s mission of promoting good governance, empowering future policymakers, and expanding our global network of emerging legislative leaders.
Eligibility
-
- Students from low-to-middle income emerging economy
- 35 years of age or under upon submission
- Accepted to or enrolled in an accredited university, college, or institute of higher learning in a program related to governance. Both undergraduate and graduate programs are accepted.
- Committed to a future career in civil service or public sector leadership
Selection Criteria
- Civil Engagement – evidence of community or public service work
- Leadership Potential – experience in leadership positions
- Career Intent – firm intention to work in government or the public sector
- Two (2) Recommendation Letters – one from a professor, and the second from a mentor, teammate, or community leader
- Academic Achievement – demonstrated through overall GPA, academic awards, honors
- Eligibility – must be under age 35, from an emerging economy, and accepted into a program of study in the fields of law, public policy, public administration, international relations, or a cognate field that relates to governance.
Award Amount

$2,000 to be put toward tuition expenses, fees, or the cost of study materials

An all-expense-paid trip to Geneva, Switzerland to participate in the next GILPP conference
